Today I listened to Black Eyed Peas- Fashion Beats and me, a grown man, weeped almost uncontrollably. Maybe because Fergie’s been on my brain do to Death to the Throne‘s constant twitter fetish with said singer. Speaking of BEP- Download DJ Fashen’s December Charts Mix from www.itsfashen.com http://itsfashen.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Charts-Mix-December-2010.mp3 And speaking of Death to the Throne grab his awesome new remix of Metric over at Nashville Nights http://nashvillenightsblog.com/metric-twilight-galaxy-death-to-the-throne-remix/ Silver Medallion hits Miami this weekend, I’ll post the flyer tomorrow, will be djing Saturday night, chilling at the Charlotte Ronson/United Nude/Blackbook Magazine party Thursday, and raising a ruckus Friday. Things I will be playing in Miami Pt. 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnSUw02aaSA I won’t be playing this, but the video is suitably awkward SIRIUSMO “EINMAL IN DER WOCHE SCHREIEN” from โ โ โ on Vimeo. And some DFA “indier than thou” music to raise my blog’s credibility amongst over 35 white males who once worked for Pitchfork or were roomates/in a band with someone who worked at Pitchfork. Shit Robot – Take ‘Em Up from DFA Records on Vimeo. Mixtape Tuesday- MISHKA and Death Set. Need I say more. Download the ruckus 43 track party here. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ISOQ00AC
This is the scenario, you’re fresh off of Thanksgiving dinner, stuffed to the hilt, strange foreign beer in hand, and one of the lads says “enough of this, to the baths!” and in your strange holiday fantasy, you enter this Chromeo music video. Chromeo – “Hot Mess” from Paradoxal Inc on Vimeo. Of equal interest, here’s the reel from Paradoxal, who made the above. Inspiring stuff. PARADOXAL DEMO REEL 2010 from Paradoxal Inc on Vimeo. Bro Discussion Point- DIe Antwoord Singer: Creepy or Total Alt Babe? Life seems to be all about Kanye West right now, so I saved him for third. Apart from performing at the Thanksgiving Day Parade today (and bringing Bon Iver along, no less) he’s doing pretty much everything a man on the brink of greatness should be, including addled tirades on media in front of intimate crowds at last minute concerts. I’m just inspired by the ruleboard in his Hawaii studio. I was spinning at a nightclub I genuinely enjoy other night, Polar, and it’s interior again inspired me to want to do some strange video sequence there. Chrisette Michelle knows what I’m talking about. And no it’s not too early to start thinking about new years, because this is AWESOME, and the homie DJ Equal is spinning. Miami Horror are inspiring to say the least, this is a lineup I can sink my teeth into. NEW SILVER MEDALLION- Overwerk and SM strike again. You have to listen through the 3 minute mark, trust me. This is my year by the way… The rest of what I have to say about that is below. And lastly, not a fan of the band or of Jared Leto as a human being (alien?) but this music video was tight and inspiring. http://www.mtv.com/videos/?id=1518072 30 Seconds To Mars – New Music – More Music Videos
It’s strange times out here in the city, people walk down the street daily with cases of Four Loko, and I think people are rightly starting to assume that alchohol is more dangerous the drugs. It’s about to be legal to grow marijuana in Arizona if there isn’t a dispensary within 25 miles, and NERO remixed NERD. The days end at about 4:40 when the sun sets and Federal regulators are trying to shut down college debauchary. A man chugged two four lokos out of a coffee cup. A conservative politician drank three and a half in an hour and documented it. I remember the good old days, when we just drank two four lokos in a night because they we’re 2.85 and kept you up and kind of made you feel like you were gone of Mad Dog and cheap drugs, before the youth and the crazies started taking things to another level. And so life goes, in VH1′s Remember 2010 there will definitely be a chapter on this, as well as probably dubstep (strange) and Lil Wayne being in jail, and Lindsay Lohan getting dropped from an art house film where she plays herself. Learn how to brew your own loko below. And these guys even chose watermelon instead of one of the nasty ones. Rock the how to video below and then listen to this to get in the mood. http://soundcloud.com/silvermedallion/four-loko-sex-pistol-leak

Silver Medallion- All I Ask Pt. 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt9YBD_eajU A new video… Post Carnegie passing I feel performance and party based music videos probably aren’t gonna cut it, so I’m all about doing artistic justice to these songs. This one got put in the very capable hands of William Bastian II from Burning Phoenix Media and the outcome is fantastic. Kid Cudi shut down Greene St in Soho Yesterday, an amazing NY moment for all (pics from www.spreadtherapy.com) And for my NYer’s, Cosmo afterparty on Thursday with open bar and my man Louie the XIVth.
