And the beat goes on… Monkey Bar was amazing, shout to DJ Biggs and everyone from the frat… We had a super good time! We we’re freestyling at the frathouse until the wee hours, Carnegie was taking names in 2k10, Bistro 63 food was amazing, and we murked the Amherst thrift stores on the way out. Shout out to Aknowledge clothing for getting us fitted for the weekend! http://www.flickr.com/photos/silvermedallion/show/
Alright, so back to blogging. We spent the weekend in Virginia, drove through four states to get there, had a wierd but good show, there we’re no lights so it felt very impersonal and little interaction and then at the end of the night it seemed real easy for there to be a light just on stage and I was pretty much confused… But life goes. on… A pic or two are below. The Party The Aftermath More importantly, on the days we’re not on the road I’ve implemented a new strategy towards success, which is doing one small marketing item per day. This could be joining a social network, signing up for a service, anything that helps connect us to more fans. I’m going to post these one by one on here, a good blueprint for other artists who have the time or anyone interested in marketing themselves or their business. The other day we joined a social network called Skyrock. There’s a million social networks, and I honestly don’t think it’s a priority for a band to be on all of them, but I don’t want to be left out, when we joined thesixtyone at the recommendation of one of my friends from Hawaii it worked out great for us, so mine as well leave no stone unturned. I heard about Skyrock indirectly because of Juelz Santana. As we cruised into New York on the 6.5 hour trip from Virginia we turned on Hot 97, where they brought back Juelz verse THREE TIMES and it was banging and amazing… I went to listen to the song on youtube when I was home and the big add for Lloyd Banks on the video featured his Skyrock link, so I signed up. If you’re on the network you can find us at silvermedallion.skyrock.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntYR17MRvgI Download here Juelz been killing it, when I heard him and Yelawolf murking some Bob Dylan inspired cocaine rap I knew he was back trying to run NYC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Hlzbe9t4BI Super fresh chopped and screwed version of Yelawolf’s mixtape cut to the same track, if you’re into ...
The following pictures are from an unnamed fraternity at an unnamed college taken by an unnamed photographer with a camera named Lucy after Slug’s lost girlfriend. They made us a silver medallion out of freebase-free tin foil. Ladies love Carnegie. Crowdsurfing during “I Dream of Dana”. The inevitable plunge to the floor after said crowdsurfing. After the show there was no water so I chugged this muscle milk. I like them “We listen to Deadmau5 so you guys are pussies” girls. “We weren’t gonna come, then we saw you guys were on Hype Machine.” Thanks hipstahs. “Now that’s how you bang down a Natty Ice bro!” Great crowd. #iwantthishereforevermayn
World tour. A concept that many men dare not even grasp, and one even fewer embark upon. We are not those men. Because we’re on FRATERNITY TOUR. Land of brodom, beer pong and if we’re lucky some handles of Maker’s Mark. We’ve spent the last few days assembling our crew and our necessary items… First off… The bus. We had been holding out for sponsorship, worst case scenario we were gonna rent a van, but PBR came through in the clutch with a renovated hippie-mobile. The team in Jersey slapped some big magnetic stickers on that boy, XM through us a free radio service and we’re ready to go… They might be expecting MGMT, but this bad boy holds Silver Medallion & CO. Due to quarantine constraints, we couldn’t bring the DJ Epidemic (shmer shmer shmer)… We’re thinking of developing a way to shrink him to pocket size, but that doesn’t really pertain to what’s going on here, it’s more a “free time” activity. Instead we have my dad’s old 70’s buddy, Arthur, but we just call him Hans for reasons I don’t recall. He’s a professional roadie, and also a great friend. He talks a lot of jive about music and meaning but we think he’s just along for the girls and free beer. And then us… Look at these boys, all grown up and ready to educate the youth with classic material about love and life and achieving your dreams. We might not be LMFAO, but 4 out of 5 frat boys says we’re way cuter. Our soundtrack for the road is mostly old cassette tapes, due to the nature of our vehicle, right now after a tiered voting system for each week of travel, we’ll be rolling around the east coast to Seal’s “Kissed By a Rose” The Sponsors Carnegie and I have recently both established the goal of 12-15% body far. Muscle Milk is our secret, and this chocolatey goodness of protein and man stuff is our main ticket to being fully ripped brah. Pabst Blue Ribbon. The official beer of your hipster cousin, whichever apostle ...
Saw this on guest of a guest. The we are the world session for Haiti… Except Vince Vaughn’s somehow in the mix!
